Things have been a little quiet on our social media and website for a while, and for very good reason!
In December 2020, Daniel and I relocated to Whangārei to escape the endless threat of Covid-19 lockdowns in Auckland. We wanted to live life in the slow lane for a while, and I wanted to work on the business to get the ball rolling properly after all the stopping and starting due to Covid-19.
Life had different ideas though, and not long after arriving in Whangarei, we realised that we would be expecting another arrival in October 2021. A little boy was on his way! I rushed to get any new releases ready to go so I could theoretically keep the business running while heavily pregnant and postpartum. Unfortunately, it became apparent pretty quickly that my energy levels wouldn't really allow more than the bare minimum to keep the business afloat until recently.
So, while we were getting used to our new roles as parents, I was using what precious little time I had to keep stock levels up and slowly put together some new products for our eventual relaunch. I planned and pondered what direction I wanted to go with my business, and I think that there are some exciting new places that we can take it!
First of all, we needed a name change. Something that reflected who we are. Chur is such a Kiwi word. It reflects how I feel now about what we have already built, and where we are going in the future. I feel so grateful for the people who have helped Daniel and I with this business by giving their time, energy or even just another set of eyes to look at our ideas. I feel thankful that we have made it through all of the stopping and starting and general hecticness that comes with pandemics, babies, and starting a new business - while attempting to juggle both. But most of all, I feel grateful to have the opportunity to pursue my dreams and make Chur a reality.
I am so excited about the new direction we are going in, and I'm looking forward to seeing where this journey will take us. I have lots of new things up my sleeves, so keep your eyes peeled and follow us on Facebook or Instagram to keep up to date!
